How do top-down/bottom-up shades work?
Cordless top down bottom up shades operate with a system of route bands or concealed cords for dual-fabric versions, connected to dual-action top and bottom rails.
To let more natural light into the room while maintaining privacy, lower the shade from the top. For complete privacy, raise the middle bar to the top to cover the entire window. For an unobstructed view outside, use the cordless lift system to raise the shade entirely from the bottom.
How are motorized products operated?
Many of our window coverings offer a motorized upgrade that allow you to operate your blinds at the touch of a button. Options include: (1) motorized wands, (2) programmable remote controls and (3) smart hubs for wi-fi operation (including setting timers/schedules) through a smartphone or voice control via Alexa or Google.
Can I use one remote for multiple motorized shades?
Yes, with many of our motorized blinds, you can control multiple shades using a single remote. The remotes can be pre-programmed at the factory to operate multiple blinds either together or individually. For more information on motorization and the number of shades a remote can manage, please refer to our detailed guidelines.
Should I round up or down 1/8" on my window measurements?
If your window measurements fall between eighths of an inch, round down to the nearest 1/8" for width and round up to the nearest 1/8" for height. For example: Width: 40-1/16" would round down to 40". Height: 40- 1/16" would round up to 40-1/8".
What is the difference between inside and outside mount?
The difference between inside and outside mount is the way in which the blind or shade is hung. Inside mount is attaching the blind within the window sill so that the blinds or shades are flush with the wall. Outside mount is when a blind or shade hangs outside the window sill and extends beyond the wall or door.
